Power is limited and unchanged from 200 Watts in line with legal requirements.

The added torque is ideal for carrying loads or going up hills. The extra torque won't give you any more acceleration, but what it will do is give you the ability to resist change in speed when you load the bike, with bags or kids, or when you head uphill.

In other words, comparing the two models, when you hit a hill with the XT model you will find that you won't lose as much speed going up than you would with the standard model.

The extra torque makes the e.bike so much easier to ride in hilly cities like Sydney and Brisbane. In flat places the extra torque gives you an advantage in headwinds and when the bikes are loaded.

See our Gazelle bike range here ->

MODKAT - Very Popular with our Clients

The award winning ModKat is the world’s smartest looking, most functional cat litter box. There are differences between gas, log and ethanol fireplaces in terms of how they operate, the fuel they use, the ease and cost of installation, and how much heat they give off.

If we just look at ethanol fireplaces, they are not all created equal either. Some fireplaces are mainly for show and others are completely capable of providing substantial volumes of hot air.

All Ecosmart flueless fireplaces give off large amounts of hot air and in most circumstances are capable of providing adequate room warmth. The amount of warmth provided depends upon the size of the room to be heated, the height of the ceiling, whether or not the dwelling is multi level.

We often surprise customers with the amount of heat our demonstration models in our store are capable of producing. Often times we turn off our air conditioning and ventilation fans to show just how quickly the temperature in our showroom can increase. It doesn't usually take long before our customers are asking us to turn the air conditioning back on.

To see how much heat these fireplaces are capable of producing, it is easier to see our demonstrations in our store in the Sydney Suburb of St Leonards (Australia). We have various models that we can demonstrate

Ethanol fireplaces would not necessarily warm an environment any better than other heating solutions, but if correctly sized, would be capable of providing as much heat as any other heating system with several advantages.

1. Capital outlay:

In many circumstances the purchase cost of and installation cost of a ethanol flueless fireplace can be considerably less expensive than other systems.

2. Ease of Installation

Ethanol Fluless fireplaces do not require; a flue, a hearth, a hard fuel supply, or an electrical supply. Builders love installing these fireplaces because of the the simplicity of installation and owners love them because their installation costs are reduced.

3. Moisture added to the room space whilst heating

One of the products of combustion is steam. Not copius amounts that would produce condensation on windows and walls, but the kind that makes heating more comfortable.

4. The greenest fuel around

Ethanol is regarded as the greenest fuel since it is a sustainable renewable fuel.

5. Design Freedom

Architects and Interior Designers love Ethanol Fireplaces

The design freedom afforded by using Ethanol Flueless Fireplaces means that either you or your architect/designer has almost unlimited freedom in the final look and placement of your fireplace.

6. Multi-level dwelling installtions

Ethanol fireplaces don't need a flue, so you have no issues with routing flues through levels above.

7. Not stuck to an outside wall

Since Ethanol Flueless Fireplaces are...flueless, they can be put against any wall not just an external wall, or placed easily in the middle of a room for that wow factor!

8. Ease of Operation

These fireplaces are very simple to operate.

9. Fuel is Easy to Source

Denatured Ethanol (Methylated Spirits in Australia) is very ease to source and is not very expensive.

What is an e.Bike?

e.Bikes are fairly new to Australia. With the proliferation of bicycles on our streets up until now there has really only been a choice between two types of bike, Road bikes or Mountain bikes.

There is now a third choice, city bikes. City bikes are typically designed for comfort and longevity rather than speed and performance. The Dutch have been building bikes for a very long time. Their bikes have evolved into comfortable bikes with large seats and an upright siting position.

We are finding that our customers are really enjoying the fact that there is now greater choice in the Australian market place with the addition of these bikes. In the search for a good comfortable city bike we came across the Gazelle brand. Gazelle is not well known to Australians, but is very well known across Europe. Gazelle is The Netherlands oldest, largest and most respected bicycle company. Their quality is renowned and in Europe Gazelle is regarded as the Mercedes-Benz of bikes.

Which brings us to e.Bikes!

e.Bikes are electrically assisted bikes. They do not have a throttle and they provide power to the motor in the hub of one of the wheels only when the rider is cranking the pedals. It is a bit like power steering in a car. The steering wheel will not turn itself, but with power assistance it is easier to turn. The e.Bike operates in the same way, it won't move by itself, but it will provide power when you are pedalling and therefore require less effort to pedal.

Taking Care of your Ethanol Flueless Fireplace

I am often asked about how difficult is it to care for and maintain an ethanol fireplace. In the first instance, I can only talk about models from the Ecosmart and BluBox ranges, since I am only familiar with these products.

The simple answer is that it is easy to care for your Ecosmart or BluBox ethanol fireplace.

We have demonstration models in our store which are running for most of the day so we can show clients how they work. Whilst ethanol burns cleanly, there is little or no soot and no odour, however the burners themselves can require cleaning over time.

Our normal cleaning regime involves the following;

Before Using the Fireplace

Make sure the Burner is off and cold. Wipe the opening of the Burner mouth with a damp piece of paper towel to remove any build up.

Once a Week

Make sure the burner is off, cold, and has no fuel in it. Vacuum out the inside of the burner

Once a month or when we smell a slight burning odour (like a candle burning)

Make sure the burner is off, cold, and has no fuel in it. We remove the burner and take it to a sink. We run hot water through it for a few minutes until the water runs out clear.

We then turn it upside down and leave it overnight to dry out.

For normal domestic use, the cleaning regime mentioned above can be done on a less frequent basis according to your needs.

General cleaning tips

To clean the stainless steel, the case and the glass we use tap water and we purchased one of those spray bottles from the supermarket. We lightly spray the water onto the surface to be cleaned and wipe the surface with a microfibre cloth.

The Burner will have a heat staining effect around the flame opening. This is a normal part of the heating process and you can't do anything to stop it. If you choose to remove it, any stainless steel cleaning agent will do the job. We avoid using these cleaning agents since they tend to leave a residue and when you next use the fireplace it tends to fume off. We put up with the heat stain. It will only go to certain size and not increase further.
